Rag doll cats first originated in 1960's from a non pedigree cat in the US. Ann Baker had a kitten from this cats litter and decided because of their affection nature and beauty they were worthy of their own breed and created the Rag Doll breed. Ann also created her own cat registery – the International Ragdoll Cat Association and trademarked the name Rag Doll.
Exported in 1981 was the first breeding pair to Great Britain, were 6 months kitten belonging Lulu Rowley, owner of Petil lu-rearing. While still in quarantine was a litter of 26 born in July. Lulu and her friend Pat imported Rag Doll 8 other cats to help expand their herd. Rag dolls were floppy and docile in nature, hence the name, but modern breeders try to breed docile as they feel may not be in the best interest of the cat. They are famous for their temperament, very laid back and devote their lives to their respective owners. It was once thought to feel no pain because of their nature, but tests have shown that feel the same amount of pain compared to other breeds. They like a lot of attention, and will always be with you, if this is in bed or in the bathroom. Rag dolls that do not have children grow up and are expected to make a toy than anything.
As with the Maine Coon is a large breed of cat. Rag Doll cats are available in 6 colors, seal, chocolate, flame, blue, purple and cream. The colors chocolate and lilac are more difficult to acquire. There are a number of variations on a model and may include: detect, transmitted, and bicolored. The flagship model is characterized by a single dark color on the ends, such as nose, ears, paws and tail. The Mitted pattern similar to that with some extra features that have a wide range of white, which are signaled by his chin, belly down to her genitals are playing on the chin and white paws.
